• My Recent Empties

I’ve always been in awe of all those “empties” that everyone knocks out.  I’ve been blogging for two years now and this is my first!  It’s a mixture of forgetting to actually keep the empty bottles and jars, as well as not entirely finishing things before I move on to the next item, which means things in my beauty stash just linger around for ages.  Well, I’ve been making a conscious effort to improve on both counts and although I feel like this is still a poor effort, I can finally share some products that I have well and truly finished.

Finishing perfume for me takes an eternity as I have so many on rotation.  So the fact that I have finished not one, but two of my favourites from Chanel makes me feel both proud but a little upset at the same time. Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche and Chanel Chance Eau Tendre are gorgeous scents.  Eau Fraiche is a citrus, cologne type scent whilst Eau Tendre smells like sophisticated sweets and lingers for ages.    Clearly if a perfume finishes then no doubt I will be repurchasing but probably not yet as both are my preferred spring/summer scents.

Next up is Nars Sheer Glow Foundation.  Now technically this is evidence that I could have done an empties post way before as I have been through bottles of this over the years.  To avoid a last minute panic buy I actually picked up two this time!  I spoke about this foundation in a recent post, which you can read here.

Although there have been mixed reviews on the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream, I have literally wiped the jar clean.  However, as much as I would love to repurchase this, at £70 it’s a lot of money and I do like to rotate my moisturisers.  I am currently using something a lot cheaper which I bought from Marks and Spencer and I’ll be sharing my thoughts on this in a mini M&S haul soon.

Another item from Nars I’ve been through a lot is the Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.  It is what I consider one of the best eyeshadow primers but I must have been hit by the sensible bug again and decided to go for something a bit cheaper by way of the Kiko Eye Base.  It’s not as good as Nars, but it does the job.

As you should, I make it a habit to change my mascara every three months.  I am a massive fan of the L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara and always come back to this.  It doesn’t smudge and gives length, volume and curl.  I’ve got a few others I can turn to for now but next on my list is the L’Oreal Paris Paradise Mascara as I have only heard good things.

So you can really tell how much I love the Estēe Lauder Perfectly Clean Multi-Action Foam Cleanser/ Purifying Mask – it looks like I’ve squeezed the life out of it!  I’ve still got one from Khiel’s to finish and then it’s time to think about whether I repurchase, or try something new….any recommendations?

Another skincare item I’ve used up is the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant.  I love this stuff but I have so many exfoliators at the moment and again I’d like to try something new when I do repurchase.  It is one that I’ll revisit at some point though.

The same goes for the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer.  It creates the perfect, smooth canvas prior to makeup application but I am currently using the YSL Touche Éclat Blur Primer, which I am very happy with.

Lastly is the Bumble and Bumble Brilliantine.  Now I really love this little hair wonder.  It gives your hair this natural definition and polish, plus it smells divine.  I can’t wait to buy it but for some reason keep forgetting to pick up another one when I go to the shops.

So that’s it for now.  Hopefully it won’t take me another two years to share some more empties with you, but somehow I don’t think I’ll have so much of a problem now.  x
