• Some New Tom Ford Beauty Items

It’s really handy having a blog as you can just direct people to it when they are struggling with what to buy you for your birthday.  Well that’s exactly what I do now and I would say my blog is pretty telling about all of the things I like!

My recent luxury wish list, which you can read herewas the precise post I directed my family to when it was my birthday in September.  Gosh that feels like ages ago and I can’t believe it’s taken me 6 weeks to get this post written up, especially when they went for what I wanted the most – Tom Ford Beauty!  Ok, so I might have dropped some not so subtle hints that Tom Ford was the top of the list, but hey, if you don’t ask you don’t get.  Jokes aside, I was extremely grateful, especially since they went all out and got me some other amazing things too.

I’m not normally so anal when it comes to taking pictures before I use the products, but in this case I waited only to give in with the eyeshadow palette about two days before taking the photo.  But I stuck it out with the lipstick though – you’ve gotta have the TF embossing on the lipstick looking pristine right?

The Tom Ford Ultra-Rich Lip Colour in Solar Affair is a warm-toned coral with an orange undertone. The formula is very creamy and hydrating and although not opaque in finish, this is still very pigmented. Orange undertones might sound scary, but they instantly brighten up the complexion and this is an easy-to-wear coral that works well any time of the year.

It goes without saying that the packaging is just beautiful with the white and gold case just so classy and elegant.

The eyeshadow palette I got is the Tom Ford Eye Colour Quad in Honeymoon.  Of all the colour ways available, this one has always stood out to me even though I don’t normally got for plums when it comes to eyeshadows.  Aside from the fact that it looks absolutely stunning, the colours compliment each other so well.

Nonetheless, it still fits into my much-loved warm-toned category.  The first shade on the top left is a champagne-golden shimmer, which is great as a base colour or to highlight the brow-bone or inner corners of the eyes.  Next to this is a coppery bronze, which still has a golden undertone to it.  This is another great base colour but much deeper and also works well as a crease colour if you don’t want to go for a dark, smokey look. I also love wearing it on my waterline to brighten up the eyes.

The bottom two colours help put a twist to the more traditional smokey eye as they have reddish and plum tones.  On the bottom left is a cranberry-toned colour whilst next to it is a deeper plum, which works great as an eyeliner too.  Both add more depth to the eyes and are definitely more opaque in pigmentation, whilst the lighter, golden and bronze shades have a frost finish.

The pigmentation of these shadows is amazing and they can be applied both wet or dry.  I prefer to wear an eyeshadow primer all the time so can’t comment on how this quad performs without a primer, but in all the wear-time is very good, lasting well until I take my makeup off at night.

Although both products are very luxurious, they can be worn day or evening and with the eye colour quad, a number of eye looks can be created.  As you can imagine I adore both of these.

So what do you think?  Take your fancy too? x
