• Currently Loving | The November Edition

Gosh I really can’t believe it’s nearly the end of the month.  I feel like ever since I started posting my monthly favourites, the months go by even quicker.  Not only that, but December is just around the corner and that means the festivities are now well and truly underway….time sure does fly!

In terms of my beauty favourites in the month, my absolute love and new find has to be the Elie Saab Girl of Now perfume, which I spoke about here.  I have been loving this fragrance and can see this as a firm favourite for many months to come.  The other highlight has definitely been my Tom Ford Eye Colour Quad in Honeymoon. I don’t normally go for plums and reds on the eyes, but this is a stunner and I’ve been creating different eye looks using this palette pretty much throughout the month.  I recently did a post on my Tom Ford goodies, which you can read here.

However, beauty things aside, the real highlight has been the pleasure of attending the Martha Brook London launch event in West London and the launch of HEMA’s flagship store on Tottenham Court Road in Central London.

Firstly, Martha Brook London is all about personalised and delightfully individual stationery.  Discovered through Instagram, I’ve been following Martha and her beautifully crafted posts for a while, so when I won a ticket to attend the rebrand launch (previously Love Give Ink), I really was over the moon.  It’s such a personable and relatable brand and Martha’s business, which started back in 2013, came about when she created a personal box of 10 little “Love Notes” for her husband on their first wedding anniversary and it was this that sparked her passion to create unique paper-based gifts.

The event was at the Hampshire Hog in West London and it really was excuisitely done.  I got to mingle with other stationery lovers like myself and I must add that all of the staff were so friendly and lovely to speak to.  There was a very well put together goodie bag too including this notebook and Christmas star decoration, some sweet treats (which clearly got eaten straight away) and a quote card which reads “Just Start” – perfect for me right now!

If it was up to me, I would probably buy every notebook (all personalised of course) and I’ve already got my eye on some things.  In fact, below are some items that I particularly love and these would make for great gift ideas if you are struggling with what to buy your loved ones this Christmas.  All of these are available at marthabrook.com and they even ship internationally.  Also, until midnight on Monday you can get 20% off using the code PINKFRIDAY.  I would just add, this isn’t a sponsored post or anything, I just really think you’ll like their stuff!

The other event I went to was the opening of HEMA’s first flagship store in one of London’s busiest retail hotspots – Tottenham Court Road.  For those of you that don’t know, HEMA is an international Dutch retailer and was founded in Amsterdam 91 years ago.

Prior to attending this event, HEMA is a store I was frequented with as there is one local to me and no doubt it is ideal for me and my ever growing collection of props.  HEMA really is like a treasure chest and whether it’s food, homeware and decorations to beauty and stationery, this is a one stop shop for EVERYTHING.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll regularly see me posting with an array of props scattered here and there. Well, HEMA is the main source of late, especially for those props of the edible variety.  I could quite literally set up my own little HEMA shop from home so I was super excited to attend their launch party which no doubt had me coming home with even more bags full of things.

Various beauty and interiors workshops were held during the evening, all providing some useful tips and tricks as well as gift ideas for the holiday season.  We even got to enjoy brownies made with HEMA chocolate and they were divine.  One thing for sure is that this store is very affordable but without skimping on quality.

I might have picked up quite a few sweets and chocolates, this cute brass candle holder which was just £5, various cutlery, the wooden stamps featured in this picture and so much more.  Of course I couldn’t resist picking up something beauty related, and went for these two nail polishes – a bubblegum pink and a terracotta.

We were also supplied with goodie bags which included this cute notebook and candle as wells as some waffles and an eyeshadow pencil.  You can check out HEMA online here and if you are stuck for stocking fillers or want to make your own Christmas hampers, this is the ideal place to shop.

So in all it’s been an eventful November and as ever I’ve managed to be even more inspired and ready to get all festive this December.

But what about you?  What have you been up to?  I’d love to know.
