Ever get that time when you buy makeup and decide it’s not for you, but then some time later you find a way of making it work? Well I get that all the time and that’s why I never completely disregard my makeup. It may sit at the bottom of my draw for an eternity but at some point it makes a comeback. That is exactly what has happened with Nars Shimmer Eyeshadow in Valhalla and the Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in Bronze both of which were in the “I don’t think these will ever work on me” pile until out of nowhere I thought of just trying to wear them together and voilà, new eyeshadow combo was born!
Nars Shimmer Eyeshadow in Valhalla is a soft shimmering pinky peach eyeshadow which on its own I find makes my eyes look a bit swollen but when mixed with the Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in Bronze, it just brings the look to life. The Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow is a cream formula and is more of a darkened bronze brown and it smokes up the eye beautifully adding depth, warmth and an edge to Nars Valhalla.
There’s also something about pink and brown that works and the way I love to wear it is Nars Valhalla all over the eyelid and then the Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in Bronze on the outer corners and blended into the middle of the eyelid. It can also double up as an eyeliner as it is dark enough to create that definition to the eyes. The fact that you are working with one eyeshadow which is a powder and the other which is a cream formula doesn’t cause any problems because they are both shimmers and it adds to the depth and vibrancy of the eyeshadow.
I love this eyeshadow combo as it’s soft but defined and smokey in a subtle way…..just how I like it.
Have you tried these two eyeshadows before and what unusual eyeshadow combos do you like? x
