Volume in my hair is something I am always after and I’m constantly using my hands to give a bit of lift throughout the day….bad habit I know but I hate it when my hair goes flat up top. I find that if I don’t get the right amount of volume the day I’ve washed and styled my hair, it’s gonna go limp pretty quick afterwards. Luckily, I have two products that have been helping me with my dilemma and both of these are to be used on damp hair pre blow drying.
Firstly is the Bumble & Bumble Thickening Full Form Mousse. I think this is now my third bottle, so clearly I love the stuff and this non-sticky formula is designed to lift, sculpt and hold. I normally apply one full squirt and concentrate at the roots with any residue worked through the lengths of my hair and then I massage it in before blow drying with a big round heated brush. It gives real oomph to the hair with lots of body and provided I don’t use too much, my hair never looks and feels stiff.
The next product I also love is the Show Beauty Lux Volume Mist. I previously spoke about their Decadence Hair Fragrance here, which I absolutely love. Well, this basically smells exactly the same but you get the added benefit of volume in your hair. The finish is not as intense as the Bumble & Bumble Thickening Mousse but depending on how much effort you put into your blow dry you can get a good level of volume that looks really natural – just how I like it. It also makes my hair look really shiny and healthy too and that’s because it’s packed with various nourishing ingredients including argan oil, lychee extract, mango, aloe vera and vitamin E to name a few.
Normally I use one or the other but sometimes I’ll use the mousse at the roots and then lightly spray the Lux Volume Mist for a double whammy effect. Either way, these are great additions to my hair styling routine but I must admit I do use the Volume Mist from Show Beauty very sparingly because at £35 this stuff does not come cheap – I think it’s the luscious smell which really draws you in!
So, what do you use to get that oomph in your hair? If you have any other recommendations please drop me a note in the comments below. x
