• My Current Winter Perfumes On Rotation

Current Winter perfumes on rotation profile

I think I’ve mentioned before that my taste in perfume depends very much on the season and during the Winter I’m all about those warm and heady scents which engulf you with an air of mystery, wrap you up in a blanket and linger on until the night.  That’s why I’ve never been one for a signature scent, perfume for me is about my mood, the season, where I’m going and even what I’m wearing.  It’s that final touch that I feel completely lost without and here’s my current Winter perfumes on rotation:

Dolce & Gabbana The One Eau de Parfum. An old school favourite and one of those distinctive smells where you can instantly smell it on someone else.  This is a comforting perfume with a subtle edge to it making it far from boring.  It dries down to a musky vanilla scent but notes of Plum, Peach & Jasmine gives it that sweetness.

Viktor & Rolf BonBon Eau de Parfum. Firstly how cute and girly is this bottle?  Like the name suggests, this is a sweet-smelling perfume with strong caramel and candy like undertones.  The top notes include Mandarin, Orange and Peach, the middle notes include Caramel, Jasmine & Orange blossom with the base notes consisting of Sandalwood, Cedarwood and Amber.  This is pretty strong and I only need about two sprays to last me the whole day.

Lancome La Vie Est Belle Eau de Toilette. I spoke about this in my Boots Haul here and unlike its older sister, this perfume has a lovely balance of sweet toffee and floral notes making it lighter, but still a gorgeous fragrance for the Winter.  With notes like Praline, Almond, Magnolia, Tonka bean and Patchouli this really is a delectable treat and always draws compliments.

Eau Duelle Eau de Toilette by Diptyque Paris.  My first diptyque fragrance and probably by far one of my favourites of all the ones I have smelt.  This is a very sophicated vanilla as it has a spiciness to it with the addition of cardamom and Black tea as well as Bourbon vanilla.   Sweet and seductive is how I would describe this grown-up vanilla scent.

Gucci Guilty Eau de Toilette.  This is another old-school favourite of mine.  It’s the beautiful composition of fruit and spice that makes this a rich and deep scent whilst the oriental floral notes add a touch of lightness. Key notes include Mandarin, Pink Pepper, Peach, Geranium, Patchouli and Amber.

YSL Black Opium Eau de Parfum. This is a great statement perfume and very much an addictive gourmand with floral notes.  With notes of Black coffee, Cedarwood, Orange blossom and Patchouli this is a strong, sensual and glamorous fragrance and perfect to wear for a night out as it draws attention.
