• Currently Loving | The July Edition

I’ve always felt like doing a post like this and thought rather than worry over whether I would have enough to talk about every month, I would just make a start with it.  Fingers crossed this will be a regular feature.  So, without further ado, I should say welcome to my first edition of what I am currently loving, both in the beauty and non-beauty arena.

I’ve certainly developed a fetish for summer hats of late. I think it’s this desire to go on holiday and I recently picked up three. How I am going to carry these with me I don’t know but I guess I should actually book a holiday first!  The one featured here I picked up in the Accessorize sale and I love the fact that it says “Hello Sunshine”. There’s also another one I got from H&M which featured on my Instagram page here. You can’t really go wrong with Accessorize and H&M for summer hats but be quick if you are interested, they seem to sell out fast.

Keeping in line with the need to get summer holiday ready, exfoliating has become less of a chore and something I’m actually enjoying – sounds strange I know. I’m talking more body scrubs although I recently posted about my favourite facial exfoliators which you can read here.

This My Little Beauty Body Scrub came in July’s My Little Box subscription and it smells just like sweets.  The exfoliating beads in this are just the right consistency – not too harsh and not too gentle and there’s not an overly oily residue left afterwards either.

If it’s not this body scrub, then using the Soap & Glory Long-handled Ergonomic Back Brush followed by lashings of Kiehl’s Crème De Corps leaves my skin feeling super smooth. Despite trying a few body lotions now and then I always come back to this and have recently rediscovered my love for this Kiehl’s product. It leaves my skin hydrated for days and it has a gorgeous sheen to it.

I’m sure I’ve told you before that alongside makeup and beauty, I have a bit of a stationery obsession too. Ever since I discovered kikki-K , I absolutely adore this brand. From planners, notebooks and pens, to gratitude and goals journals as well as home accessories and quote cards, I am literally covered. I think over time I will probably have every collection going. I’ve also spoken about how I have got into the habit of keeping a gratitude journal here and I recently picked up these notebooks and glass water bottle for a friend’s birthday present and no surprises, I want these for myself too (yes I photographed everything before wrapping it up)!  Also check out this stationery set…so pretty right?

When it comes to TV, I love a good serial. I recently just finished Riviera on Sky Atlantic.  Set in the beautiful French Riviera think rich glamorous lifestyle amidst murder, intrigue, family wars, lies, deceit and the Russian mafia– perfect and a far cry from what you probably thought I would enjoy!  It’s a short 10 part series and all episodes are available to download.

Lipstick is something I will never fall out of love with and only a few days ago I shared my luxe lipstick collection, which you can read here.  However, these Smashbox Be Legendary Lipsticks are something I pretty much turn to everyday.  I have the colours Juice It and Nude Beach. Juice It is a peachy coral whereas Nude Beach is very much a pale peach and I love using it as my mixing colour.

Lastly is two moisturisers that I have been really loving and I felt they deserved to feature in this post. I’ve been using the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream as my day moisturiser and you can tell I love this as it has nearly finished. The name had me a bit wary and to say it is magic would be an overstatement I think on my part, but this is a really good moisturiser and I would consider repurchasing this despite its hefty price tag of £70.  My skin feels plump and hydrated throughout the day, pores look smaller and it sits well under my foundation, acting as a good base for makeup too.

The other moisturiser I have absolutely loved is the Thomas Michaels White Label Women’s Apothecary Moisturiser. You can read my full review on it here and as my first branch out into natural and organic skincare I am super impressed with this.

So that’s July’s favourites, I hope to see you next month for another round-up of favourites…I wonder what they will be…. What about you guys?  What have you been loving recently? x
