When you want to perk up your skin, there is nothing like a good exfoliator, it really does work wonders. Of course for the face you need to be careful and opt for something that isn’t too harsh, and that’s where the Oskia Micro Exfoliating Balm comes in handy as it is gentle on the skin.
This was a discovery in my beloved Space NK and I was instantly drawn to the sticker that said “Award Winner” on it. Luckily it doesn’t disappoint. This rich and creamy balm turns into a milk like consistency when you add water, which means you can control how intensely you want to exfoliate your skin. The recommended way to use this is to start of applying it on dry and cleansed skin. Massage it in for a good minute or so in soft circular movements and then gradually add water, again massaging this in before finally washing off.
The granules in this are tiny and are from MSM and Silica, helping to buff away skin cells and unclog pores. For those of you that don’t know, MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is an organic sulfur compound that is found in many of the healthiest foods that we eat such as broccoli, cabbage and Brussels sprouts and when applied topically it has a deeply hydrating and skin-repairing effect.
I like to try different exfoliators and this is the first one I’ve tried in a balm form which is ultimately what makes it more gentle and luxurious to use. The Oskia Micro Exfoliating Balm leaves your skin feeling cleaner, brighter and more even toned. It also has a blend of oils including Sweet Almond, Sesame Seed and Kukui Nut which restore softness and elasticity to the skin and Oskia’s Zinc-Glycine complex soothes irritation, reduces redness and promotes healing. The effects I have to say are instantaneous which helps justify the £48 price tag and “Hall of Fame” status.
The drawbacks…..I just wish you would get more for your money as no doubt I am getting through this pretty quickly even though I don’t use it every day. Even so, it is worth the money and I love how soft and supple my skin feels afterwards. If you are on the look out for a good quality and effective exfoliator then do check this out.
Do you think this is something you would try? x
