Luxury skincare is what comes to mind when I think of Heaven Skincare by Deborah Mitchell – a brand I have had the pleasure of becoming frequented with recently.
How I have only come to know of this award-winning brand now, I’m not really sure. Especially since it has amassed a celebrity following and even Kate Middleton is a fan.
I can see why since Heaven Skincare offer a range of luxurious products and treatments for the face, body and hair including cleansers, moisturisers and face and body oils, all with one mission in mind – to help you achieve a flawless, radiant complexion. The products include the best ingredients – all-natural and organic and are perfectly intertwined with Deborah’s experience as a beauty therapist.
What’s more, Deborah is at the forefront of breakthroughs in beauty technology having pioneered her own patented anti-ageing formula ABEETOXIN®. This clever formulation includes compounds found in bee venom known to help increase collagen production, thus maintaining firm and supple looking skin.
From Heaven Skincare’s renowned bee venom range, I have been trying the Bee Peel.* I have not tried something like this before. Read on to find out my thoughts.
The Bee Peel: how it works
The compounds found in ABEETOXIN® essentially fool the skin on your face into thinking it’s been stung. This causes a rush of blood to the skin, thereby stimulating the production of natural collagen and elastin – the very things we need for youthful looking skin.
It makes sense therefore that the Bee Peel is often described as a “face lift in a jar”. Together with ABEETOXIN®, other key ingredients include organic coconut and raw cane sugar (see below for the full list of ingredients). As well as increasing the elasticity of your skin, this product also evens out skin-tone as well as reducing dark spots, scars and enlarged pores. These are all the things that spark my interest which made me very excited, if not a little apprehensive, to try this.
Housed in a lovely spherical jar, this is most certainly one of the most fanciest skincare items I own. It even comes equipped with a matching spatula, ensuring you use the right amount of product.

Using just one spatula full, you apply a thin layer of this cream-like product to clean, dry skin and leave it on for 1-2 minutes, rinsing off either with water or a damp flannel. I also like to gently massage it into the skin just before I rinse off.
Being an intensive peel, I’ve only been using this twice a week and my preference is to use it at night, allowing my skin the time to repair. You can, however, use this up to a maximum of 3 consecutive days and if you want, extend the time you leave it on your skin.
The Bee Peel is suitable for all skin-types but if you have sensitive skin, just leave it on for no longer than a minute before removing.[/ads_custom_box]

So how does the Bee Peel fare?
Hearing the words bee venom and tingling, had me apprehensive. However, the tingling sensation, whilst a prominent feature, is by no means painful. I also find the more I use this, the more I become used to it. That said, if you have extremely sensitive skin you may be better off doing a patch test first. Equally, it is important to avoid any areas where the skin is broken or cut as this would only exacerbate the issue.
Although an intensive and enhanced exfoliation treatment, my skin is not left overly dry or tight afterwards and nor does it feel completely stripped. I like to follow this with a rich night cream and the combination works wonders. I have also been lucky not to experience any redness but afterwards there is a very subtle, reduced tingling sensation on the skin, which quickly disappears.
My skin immediately looks brighter and feels incredibly smooth, revealing baby-soft skin, lasting well into the morning and when I use this next. In fact, I always find when I use this the night before, the following morning when I apply my makeup, it looks that much more flawless and I don’t need to use as much foundation – for that alone I rate the Bee Peel.
” I look forward to the texture, tone and overall appearance of my skin improving each time I use this “
I’ve always felt like without makeup my skin looks dull and although I’m not quite ready to embrace no makeup yet, the brightness in my skin is apparent with the effects improving after each use. My chin area has always been a bit darker than the rest of my face and by using the Bee Peel, I am noticing the difference in my skin-tone, which is looking a lot more even now.
Overall, what had me apprehensive now has me exited to use this product because I look forward to the texture, tone and overall appearance of my skin improving each time I use this. The Bee Peel does not come cheap at £109 for 50ml, but Heaven Skincare is a premium, luxury brand and you get what you pay for. Also, given that you are not using a lot at a time, this product should last a while.
