Lip Glosses that Add that Somethin Somethin…
I do love a matte lip but sometimes it can just look a bit too dull, especially in the autumn and winter. Saying that though, seasonal or not sometimes you just want to add that somethin somethin to the lips to help liven up the complexion. Lip glosses are one of those makeup essentials that give your lip colour an instant boost as well as making the lips look juicy and plump – an essential for that youthful, natural look we all strive for. I’ve got three that I think are a must in every collection and better yet they suit all skin tones.
The Peachy Pink
Now unless you’ve been living in the dark ages, you’d have heard all about the iconic Nars Orgasm blush – that peachy pink shimmer which has since been translated into a range of other makeup related products by Nars.
The Lip Gloss in Orgasm is just as popular as the blush and one I used pretty much all last summer. It’s a lovely warm-toned coral that looks gorgeous with a tan. This is a great lip topper but also works well on its own since it’s slightly opaque and thicker in consistency. I love the golden shimmer too and the pinky, peach tone is universally flattering.
The Champagne Pink
For a more champagne pink, my other favourite is the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre in Blondie. These lip glosses offer a high-shine pigment and sit somewhere between a lip gloss and a lip lacquer. Blondie is again another universal tone and of course the shimmer had me gravitating to this in an instant. The packaging of course is as ever in true Charlotte Tilbury style very luxe and I actually like that these are dinky in size – it makes me want to buy more!

The Golden Beige
Which I did of course since my third favourite is no surprise another of the Charlotte Lip Lustres but this time in the shade Ibiza Nights. This one is a shimmering golden beige and unlike the other two more neutral and would go on top of any lip colour. I’d say on my naturally pigmented lips I’d probably only be wearing this as a lip topper and like I said it can liven up any lip colour from reds to nudes. One thing to note with these lip glosses though is that they don’t pick up a lot of product which I quite like so you can build it up as you go along rather than end up in one big gloopy mess.
So have you tried any of these before? x
