Three Blushers for a Sunkissed Look | feat Benefit Rockateur, YSL Blush Volupte & Illamasqua Colour Veil Gel Blusher

The perfect sunkissed and healthy flush to the cheeks…

With summer here, achieving that sunkissed look is somewhat easier but I find a little helping hand never goes amiss.  Some of course swear by bronzers, but I don’t wear bronzer too often.  Instead, I feel like you can never have enough blushers.  Whilst I tend to gravitate towards the subtle variety, in the summer I don’t mind turning things up a notch – just ever so slightly.  I’ve got an array of blushers that I love, but there are three that I’ve been turning to the most lately and they are perfect for that all-important sunkissed, healthy flush to the cheeks.

The YSL Rouge Volupté in Passionnee

First up is the YSL Rouge Volupté in Passionnee.  Encased within a stunning gold compact, this blusher is made up of two complimentary colours.  The darker outer square is a pink, peachy coral whereas the inner square is a lighter, highlighting shade in a soft peach with subtle golden flecks.  I wouldn’t say the inner shade is a highlighter per se, but more as something that adds a bit more dimension to the cheeks.

Ultimately, swirling your brush in the pan to get a good mix of the two is best and the result is gorgeous – it can also be built up to a stronger coral if you want.  As you would expect with YSL, the quality is amazing and this blusher is a beautiful addition to my collection.

The Illamasqua Colour Veil in Entice

Summer and cream blushers go hand in hand, but something quite unique that I’ve had the pleasure of trying is the Illamasqua Colour Veil *.  This hybrid blusher combines the jelly-like texture of their best-selling Hydra Veil Primer with the intense pigment from their powder blushers.  There are 6 colours to choose from and I have Entice which looks extremely dark in the pan, but when applied is a warm peach against my NC30 skin tone.

I find the tiniest amount goes a long way as the pigment really packs a punch and overall it blends seamlessly into the skin, revealing a fresh, glowing complexion.

    Benefit’s Rockateur

Lastly, my current go to for those sunkissed vibes is Benefit’s Rockateur.  This is the perfect rose gold shade.  The subtle shimmer blends beautifully into the skin and pretty much goes with any makeup.

Unlike your typical pinks, the dusky, brownish undertone gives this product a bit more of an edge. Über pretty, this is a must if you are looking to build your blusher collection.

So which blushers have you been using most lately? x
